Combining a conventional buoy mooring for a tanker, a floating hose, and large-scale hose reel, INCITIAS developed and delivered the world’s longest reeled floating hose solution. Designed to safely import sulphuric acid and allowed our client to eliminate their reliance on jetty and port infrastructure and associated expense. Ideal for liquid products including chemicals, refined fuel, LNG, and slurry applications.
In 2018, INCITIAS began design and construction of the large-scale reel, with commissioning in the first quarter of 2020.
Our work:
Only when the vessel is moored to the conventional buoy mooring, the floating hose is paid out from the reel and towed to the vessel. This minimises the environmental risk to the coastline and can simplify the environmental approval processes.
A key feature of the INCITIAS design is its modular delivery; supplied in standard 20 and 40 feet ISO containers. This modular design allowed the hose reel to be re-assembled on site with a standard mobile crane, without the need of a heavy lift vessel or a heavy lift on site.
