INCITIAS Projects Review 2023

Amanda Johnson

A selection of our projects and collaborative achievements from the year.

As we bid farewell to 2023, INCITIAS takes pride in reflecting on a year marked by innovation, dedication and successful collaborations. Our commitment to engineering excellence has driven us to new heights and it’s with great pleasure we present a brief annual review of some of our noteworthy projects and collaborations.

Matahio Energy Collaboration: Managing Asset Integrity

With Matahio Energy, we developed an innovative subsea tooling solution, custom designed to open a damaged subsea valve, creating opportunities for production optimization.

The solution involved the creation of a bespoke friction plate and a 3D-printed tooling package, which was deployed in 300 metres water depth, offshore in the Philippines.

A great example of our successful innovative Original Equipment creation and collaboration projects.

Germany’s first stationary LNG and regasification terminal in Brunsbúttel

INCITIAS is proud to be a part of this project and bring our expertise to the table. Joining the project earlier in the 2023, as the Schäfer Group and COBRA/CSGN, we ensured compliance with German regulations for Germany’s first onshore LNG terminal in Brunsbüttel.

Recently, Scháfer received the contract from the Spanish EPC consortium.

FAT of Noble parts for our Hose Reels

The INCITIAS Melbourne team is working on a renewable energy project for a French client. We recently undertook Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for the engineered, high precision components, which we refer to as ‘Noble parts’. As system integrators, we select and use readily available, proven components (off-the-shelf) and modify/integrate them into our original products.

FSO Pargo in Situ

The FSO Pargo reached its field in Brazil and was moored safely in 2023. With a recent announcement about its first successful maritime agency (production), posted early in this new year (2024), read about it here

INCITIAS designed, built and installed this custom hose reel in less than 10 months from the award, amid the challenges posed by the COVID pandemic. This project involved innovative approaches to reduce costs, such as powering the hose reel from the FSO hydraulic power unit and streamlining fabrication and assembly processes. Resulting in a successful delivery and installation on the FSO Pargo at DryDocks World Dubai, earning praise from the client for our agility and quality processes.

The Commissioning of the HKLTL LNG Terminal

This project, spanning from 2015 to 2023, reshaped energy infrastructure in Hong Kong, guaranteeing stable and sustainable power. From incredible drone footage (shown below) showcasing the terminal’s scale during the day and night, to the unwavering dedication of our exceptional team, this project underscores the power of collaboration and expertise.

As the HK Offshore LNG Terminal project neared its operation, INCITIAS reflected on our role in this initiative. The innovative project was a remarkable partnership between CLP, HK Electric and INCITIAS. From conceptualization in 2015, to critical contributions in environmental assessments, project development, EPC support, and specialized engineering services through 2023, we played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of this landmark project.

Safe commissioning was achieved late 2023; our congratulations were wished to all involved in this remarkable project and achievements.
